Tanner easily hoisted me off the couch and pulled me to my feet. With my hand clasped in his, I followed him down the hall, my heart beating harder with each step that brought us closer to his bedroom.
But I wasnât nervous.
Because unlike the other night, I had no reservations about Tannerâs intentions. True, we still barely knew each otherâbut Iâd spilled all my troubles to him, as hard as it was, and he hadnât judged me at all. Instead, he was so sweet and understanding of everything Iâd been through. He even offered to help by putting me in touch with his lawyer. I couldnât believe it, but I knew I could trust him.
My heart skipped with the knowledge that I was beginning to like himâlike him, a lot. And I wasnât afraid of thatâinstead, it excited me, and I wanted him to know that.
He pushed the door open and led me into a neat and spacious, but relatively spartan, bedroom.
âI like your room,â I said, looking around his tidy space. A king sized bed was the only real extravagance.
âYeah?â he asked, unconvinced. âIâm not much of a decorator.â
âNo,â I giggled, âbut itâs clean.â
A faint but familiar scent filled my senses as I followed him into his roomâit was warm like honey and comforting like a campfire. Iâd tasted that scent on his lips and smelled it on his skin.
âIt smells like you in here, too,â I said, quietly.
He chuckled. âIâm not sure if thatâs good or bad.â
âItâs good,â I said without missing a beat. âYour smell is very nice.â
âI never knew.â
Still holding my hand, he guided me onto his luxuriously soft and fluffy bed. I snuggled under the sheets and waited for him to join me.
Tanner pulled off his t-shirt and tossed it aside.
âWow,â I muttered breathlessly, my eyes glued to his sculpted torso.
Sexy v-lines were etched into his muscular abdomen, pointing like an arrow at the mouthwatering dick-print in his joggers.
âGet in here already,â I demanded, peeling back the bed sheets for him.
Unlike earlier today, I had no fears of being spotted by people walking by or being caught by jealous friends. No, this time, we were free to do whatever we wanted. And nothing could stop us.
âIâm coming,â he said, joining me at last.
Not wasting a second, I pounced on top of him and mashed my mouth against his. Every time our lips met was electric. Each kiss built where the last one left off, our bodies aligning, our hearts opening.
His tongue chased mine. His greedy hands grabbing at my flesh with heavy male desire. I moaned his name, encouraging him to take more, more, moreâand before I knew it, he swiped at my t-shirt, pulling it over my head in one smooth and powerful motion.
With one manly hand at the nape of my neck and the other possessively gripping my rear, he pulled me tighter against his rippling chest and deepened our kiss. Passion simmered on his juicy lips while he stealthily worked the clasp of my bra.
